Rethinking Retirement

I think this might be interesting.

Would love to hear from anyone who listens in...

Tuesday, December 18th
From 3pm - 4pm Eastern

Denise Snodgrass is hosting a Free Teleseminar

"Create Your Retirement Your Way"

We're going to be talking about two programs that were designed to meet the needs of people just like YOU, who are ready to figure out how to thrive in life's second half:

The Creative Retirement Exploration Weekend;

and

Paths to Creative Retirement

This isn't creativity the way you normally think of it. It's about
finding creative solutions for designing the life and the lifestyle
you want for your retirement. It's about place. It's about
community. It's about transitions. It's about making a difference.

The only catch is that you must register to get the
recording access information. But what a great catch!

All YOU have to do is tell us you're interested in
being on the call!

Just click on the following link to register:
Gail@celebrateaging.com.

Put December 18 Seminar in the subject line, and Your
Name and Phone Number in the message.

Gail will make sure that you receive the conference call number and code for the call, as well as the access information for the recording.

I was able to participate in this conference call and it was quite interesting!

NCCCR offer a wide array of services-from "College for Seniors"-many taught by retired persons in their area of interest/expertise, Leadership Training to prepare and facilitate active community participation, empowerment and leading regarding local community issues, intergenerational programs and creative retirement weekends-with exploration of planning for and interests in what an individual might want to do once they retire.

It reminded me of some areas that Dr. Gene Cohen discussed in "The Creative Age- Awakening Human Potential in the Second Half of Life." Denise spoke about tapping into the "creative" aspects of ourselves as we move into retirement.

To check out more info. about NCCCR go to:

The link below describes a really neat program they offer- and believe me-I'd LOVE to sign up for it right now!

During my participation on this phone conference, the Civic Ventures group was mentioned.

A direct quote from the website is as follows:

"Many good paths
The transition to a next chapter can involve recycling, changing, or starting a career. A 30-year executive in advertising now teaches the subject at a local college. A Marine Corps brigadier general now runs an urban hunger relief program. An avid recreational biker now helps adults learn the importance of being active".

This website gives a wealth of ideas/connections to positive, proactive and healthy options and avenues in making the second half of life both balanced and meaningful.
