SUMMER
of 2002
The
summer of 2002 was filled with field work to collect data about soil, vegetation,
and soil organisms. The area of study was focused around a 150 meter radius
of the Cub Hill tower. In this area data was collected from two forested plots
and more than 50 residential yards. During the summer over 700 soil samples
were collected, worm and arthropod sampling was conducted, and identification
of tress and shrub was conducted in the forest plots and in the residential
yards. The sampling was done during the months of June, July, and August by
a field crew of seven interns.
