Mission Statement:

The Mission of the UMBC Fitness and Wellness Program is to provide fitness activities that contribute to the health, well-being and social development that enhance the learning outcomes of the UMBC community. The UMBC Fitness and Wellness program offers appropriate and effective fitness opportunities to UMBC students, faculty/staff and RAC members that are safe, fun, and promote healthy, active lifestyles.

Fitness and Wellness consists of Group Fitness, Personal Conditioning, Small Group Classes, and Fitness Clinics.

Personal Conditioning offers the UMBC community the opportunity to train in an individual or small group setting. Our personal conditioning trainers offer individualized attention to help each person meet their personal fitness goals. More information can be found on the Personal Conditioning pages.

 


Group Fitness provides a positive and healthy environment in which participants can engage in strength training and cardiovascular training. With a personal commitment, the Group Fitness and its instructors will help participants achieve a healthy lifestyle in a diverse and inclusive learning community. We will be offering Instructor Training Class this summer. The class is free to the UMBC community. For more information or to register see the event on our Fitness and Wellness myUMBC group!


We also offer a variety of Informational Clinics. Register for our Fitness Basics Workshop this summer and get your heart and body fit!
