UMBC hosting "Solutions Through Service" Conference - Limited Spaces Still Available!

On Saturday, April 12th from 9am-3pm, UMBC is hosting the Baltimore Region's "Solutions Through Service" Conference, made possible through the Shriver Living Learning Center and co-sponsored by The Baltimore Collegetown Network. Thanks to their support (especially UMBC's Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education Diane Lee), this event is FREE, which includes breakfast, lunch, and some giveaways.

Over 150+ student leaders in service from colleges and universities (such as Loyola College, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland Institute College of Art, and Towson University, and of course UMBC) are participating in this event to attend workshops and a mid-day Community Partners Fair. Workshops cover a broad range of ways that students can sharpen their skills as well as engage in service-related activities during and AFTER college. The Fair will provide a vast array of volunteer organizations throughout the Baltimore Region, as well as a handful of internship, part-time, and full-time opportunities. Keynote Speaker is James Piper Bond, President and CEO of the Living Classrooms Foundation.

Some spots are still available! To view the flier, go to http://www.shrivercenter.org/documents/service_forms/shriverLLC_flier.pdf

If interested in attending, contact Lori Hardesty ASAP at lhardesty@umbc.edu to pre-register!
