Great Project Management Position at Ascend One

The PMO Intern will function as a support level project management, business analysis and quality testing resource within a cross functional 'Agile' software development team. The team includes software developers, business analysts, a product owner representing business stakeholders, and a scrum master. Ascend One uses Agile and Scrum and as part of its software development and project management methodologies. The intern will learn these methodologies supporting an Agile team. The team is focused on delivering highly innovative web and social media applications. The intern will support the Agile team and also have opportunities to work within the PMO.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Working with the team to learn the functionality of the web based systems.
• Learning the Agile and scrum processes.
• Participate in team planning sessions, design reviews, quality test case development and acceptance criteria development.
• Participate with team on issue resolution.
• Assist the team with quality testing.
• Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs.
• Support sprint/release progress tracking.
• Participate in Quality team and PMO team update meetings.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Minimum Requirements)
• Basic familiarity with computers and use of Microsoft Office applications; e.g., Excel, Outlook, and Word, Project and Visio or similar tools.
• Must be a “team-player” with the ability to work within collaborative environments.
• Personal or educational experience with the internet and social networking sites is desired
• Good communication skills.
• Must be “self-motivated” and willing to learn.
• Experience with web site creation is helpful.
• Related Information Technology or Project management courses is very helpful.

Education & Experience (Minimum Requirements)
• Active in a business, information technology, communications or other related degree program

Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to sit and read information from a computer screen, input information using a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone keypad, and calculator. Communicates, exchanges, and retrieves information. The employee is occasionally required to move about, ascend or descend and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
