Apply to be a Service-Learning Intern!

The Shriver Center has 3 Service-Learning Intern positions open for the Spring 2011 semester. Interns play a pivotal role in The Shriver Center's Service-Learning Program, which places close to 600 UMBC students each year at service sites. Service-Learning Interns are student leaders who aspire to take on a more challenging role to lead various service sites. Open positions include:

Refugee Youth Project – Provide tutoring and mentoring support to adolescent refugees. Intern leads the group on Wednesdays from 2:30pm-6:30pm.
Project Team – Work with youth to stress teamwork and unity through fun and creative group activities. Intern leads the group on Mondays from 4pm- 7pm.
Adult Literacy Program at The Learning Bank – Assist adults with tutoring and GED prep. Intern leads the group on Tuesday evenings from 5pm-8:30pm; day of week for service is flexible.

Some Intern positions provide a stipend; all provide a “Service-Learning Leadership” transcript notation.
