The Westside Shelter is in need of weekly volunteers who can come and help out on Saturdays from 9am-12pm! Work with other UMBC students to provide support to men at this temporary shelter located just 3 miles from UMBC.
Current projects planned for the upcoming semester include:
- Gardening
- Motivating the shelter residents to look for and apply for jobs
- Editing resumes
- Connecting shelter residents with health care resources
- GED tutoring
Transportation is provided and spots are filling up fast! To sign up, please call The Shriver Center at 410.455.2493 and set up a time to come in and register. Deadline for registering is October 6th.
