Maryland Food Bank Needs Food Sorters & Kitchen Support

The Maryland Food Bank helps thousands of hungry people in Maryland by procuring and distributing food donations from manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and government agencies to organizations providing free food to the state's hungry.

Currently, the MD Food Bank in Halethorpe needs volunteers to serve weekly to help sort and pack food items and serve in their Community Kitchen on Fridays from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Transportation provided!

Students engaged in weekly service may enroll in Practicum 096, a 0-credit course that allows a service-learning notation to be added to your transcript. For more information, contact Melissa Huselton at huselton@umbc.edu.

Sign up soon! Deadline to register is October 6th.
