Microsoft Forefront (2.8.11)

MEEC and Microsoft Present: Forefront!

Date: Tuesday, February 8th, 2011
Time: 9:30am to 11:00am
Title: Forefront Security Products

Description: Forefront security products deliver protection, access and management solutions, built around user identity and integrated with a highly secure, interoperable
Platform. Our solutions help deliver a more contextual and user-centric security solution. As schools look to extend learning, they need to increase collaboration, sharing and access to information but must do so while protecting their assets and infrastructure. Frequently this must be addressed in the context of shrinking budgets and increased regulatory pressure. In response to these challenges and opportunities, Microsoft is taking a fundamentally different approach to security. We call it business ready security.
As part of the MEEC agreement, MD schools and universities are already licensed to deploy many of the Forefront technologies.

Please RSVP by Monday, Feb. 7th, 2011, 12:00 Noon to meec-office@usmd.edu.

Date: Wednesday, February 9th, 2011
Time: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Title: Introducing Dell’s EqualLogic iSCSI Frameless SAN

Description:
Today’s applications require more from their storage systems. Higher demands for performance, capacity, availability, backup, and disaster recovery results in higher expectations for the servers and storage that support them. Dell EqualLogic PS Series iSCSI storage arrays offer a fundamental change in the way enterprises think about purchasing and managing storage.

Dell EqualLogic Solutions are built on patented peer storage architecture offering enterprise-class performance and reliability, intelligent automation, and seamless virtualization of storage for simplified storage management. These deliver a modular and cost-effective solution that can be deployed in appropriate increments for small and medium organizations, while also being cost-effective for large enterprises requiring scalable capacity and high-end performance.

Join us and let the experts from Data Networks and Dell introduce you to the iSCSI frameless SAN architecture. The agenda will cover:

• Features and benefits of framed vs. frameless architecture
• SAN self-management features for reducing IT burden
• Auto-tuning to meet sudden IO demand and optimize performance
• VSS application integrated snapshots / restores for consistent, reliable back-ups
• Saving your organization money with this comprehensive solution

This informative session will also include plenty of time for your questions.
