UMBC Receives State Award for Achieving a 46% Reduction in Injury Claims
The State Employee Risk Management Administration (SERMA) recently recognized UMBC at their annual conference with a certificate for the significant 46% reduction of workplace injury claims reported in calendar year 2008 when compared to calendar year 2007. UMBC’s Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) department attributes this success largely to the heightened awareness and importance of workplace safety on campus. Congratulations to all of us for this important achievement!
