Brent Gibbons joins staff as post-doctoral fellow

MIPAR is pleased to welcome Dr. Brent Gibbons to its staff as a post-doctoral fellow. Brent received his B.A. and M.P.P. degrees from UMBC. He graduated from UMBC in 2013 with a Ph.D. in health policy. His primary areas of interest are mental health and disability policy, physical health, labor, and education policy. While in the Public Policy program, Brent obtained extensive research experience - as an intern with Macro International, a research assistant for Dr. David Salkever, and a researcher for the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His dissertation topic was "Effects of Employment on Mental Health for Those with Severe Mental Illness." As a post-doctoral fellow with MIPAR, Brent will assist senior faculty in developing proposals and conducting externally funded health policy research.
