Conference Keynote: The Possibiliites of Personalized Learning

Adam Garry, Dell's Manager of Global Education Strategy will deliver the Keynote Address, The Possibilities of Personalized Learning, at the MEEC Member Conference and Vendor Showcase.

Adam will share a vision for personalizing student learning by describing what makes school powerful—as well as distracting, inefficient, and frustrating—for them. His case studies will provide a final vetting of emerging implementation plans and remind educators that the solitary outcome of personalized learning is to profoundly impact kids. Adam offers a clear, student-centered definition of personalized learning.

Adam Garry is a former elementary school teacher and is now Dell's Manager of Global Education Strategy. He has presented at conferences around the world, including ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education), and has delivered keynotes across the United States and in Costa Rica, Jamaica and Trinidad. He has published many articles on technology integration for several education magazines and has a strong following on Twitter. Over the past twelve years he has consulted in school districts across the United States on school transformation, professional learning, one-to-one, the shift from print to digital, personalized learning, curriculum and instruction, and leadership. He was also one of the facilitator for the Partnership for 21st Century Skills professional development affiliates program and ISTE's School 2.0 workshops. In July 2010 his book titled, "Teaching the iGeneration: 5 Ways to Introduce Essential Skills With Web 2.0 Tools" was published and the second edition will be available in spring 2015.

Adam received a BA in Elementary Education, a Master's in Teaching and Learning with a Technology emphasis, and a Certificate in Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University.

He currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.
